ERIN LIU 

Erin Liu is a Taiwanese composer who is passionate about combining music and storytelling to create an immersive experience for the audience. She obtained her BA in English Language and Literature from Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan and went on to pursue an MFA in Music Composition for the Screen at Columbia College Chicago, where she received the Graduate Award Scholarship.


During her time at Columbia College Chicago, Erin studied film scoring, orchestration, and video game scoring with renowned professors, including program director Kubilay Uner, Kazimir Boyle, and Joel Corelitz. She also had the opportunity to work with Composers-in-Residence Miriam Cutler, Vivek Maddala, and Brandon Campbell, further refining her craft in media scoring.


Starting from 2019, Erin has written music for various media projects, including theaters, short films, and animations. During her time in English Department, she has participated in two theatrical productions, “Vinegar Tom” and “Golden Child”, serving as the composer, sound designer, and theater sound operator. She has collaborated with animators from Taipei National University of the Arts and has scored for several short films, such as “Wasted Dreams”, “Whack a Mole”, and “Chi Chi Chi” among others.


Erin's goal is to create music that takes the audience on an auditory adventure, breaking cultural and racial barriers through music. She is dedicated to expanding her knowledge and exploring new possibilities in all aspects of her creation.
